OUR Mission.
Three years ago, we founded The Literacy in Finance & Economics or LIFE Initiative after witnessing firsthand the limited opportunities for financial literacy education within our local community. Soon, however, we began to look beyond the boundaries of our town, instead thinking of the teens living in more underserved communities. The fact is, in a world where business practices are often both complicated and unethical, success (in its many forms) has become intertwined with financial and economic literacy. That’s why we want to help – we believe that everyone, no matter their age, home, or perceived status, deserves an equal chance at finding their own meaning of success, whether that be personal success, financial success, or social success.

OUR INITIATIVES
Spearhead Laws with NYS Senator Pete Harckam
We are currently working with New York State Senator Pete Harckam on developing and passing a law that will expand statewide financial literacy education, materials, and learning tools.
Discuss Literacy with Govt. of Finland Dignitaries
Through our partnership with Lincoln Method, we were invited to Helsinki, Finland to discuss the importance and the expansion of financial literacy education with Finnish dignitaries.
Personal Finance Woorkshops at centers Nationwide
LIFE ambassadors hold presentations, workshops and teach at their local libraries, and partnered Boys & Girls Clubs across America. We teach young adults necessary skills to succeed.
Develop Free LiFE curriculum for the globe to access
When invited to Helsinki to work with Lincoln Method, we developed a universally certified curriculum on teen financial literacy. The resource is free and will be accessible globally.
Conduct Literacy Research in Sponsored spaces
in Helsinki, Finland, LIFE Leaders researched in spaces sponsored by Google, HP, Microsoft, etc. We explored trends in financial literacy within young adults in different regions of the world.
Record educational videos on LIFE for young adults
Our videos gained traction from young adults across the globe, and have been supported by Infinit Capital VC. Through our video initiative we are examining the economic implications of EdTech in LIFE.

As in the name, initiatives are the core of the LIFE Initiative. If you have anything in mind that you think LIFE could execute to help any amount of people, we would love to hear your suggestion and discuss logistics for your future LIFE initiative.
Our ambassadors are the backbone of our organization. Without them we would not be able to help as many young adults as we currently are across the world. If you want to make a difference within LIFE, become an ambassador today.
If you are interested in becoming a LIFE leader in your area, then start a chapter! Starting a chapter requires a lot of time, dedication and leadership. Make sure you are committed to LIFE before registering to start a chapter.
